Wedding band recovered at Asbury Park

Got a text from Victor asking for help in finding 2 lost rings in Asbury. He had already driven home so he gave me the best information he could about where the rings might be. He had put them in the pouch on his beach chair and forgot about them. He thinks they fell out when he folded the chair to leave the beach. I went down and searched the area for acouple of hours with no luck. While down there a fellow detectorists I now came up and we were talking and I explained what I was looking for. I called it a night with no luck. While I was home the other guy called me and told me he found 1 of the rings. I got in my car and drove back to the beach to meet him. He only found the 1. It was no where near where I had searched before. I got up early the next morning and started searching the new area. About an hour into the search I found Victor’s wedding band. I texted him the good news and he came back to Asbury to retrieve his rings. Another happy ending for all.

I justed turned off my light to call it a night when my phone rang then stopped, 2 minutes later I got a text from Letishe asking for help in finding her husbands wedding ring. I called her and we agreed to meet at 2 o’clock when I got off work. They were at the hospital leaving and her husband was twisting his ring on his finger when it slipped off and disappeared into the grass along the sidewalk. They looked but couldnt find it. Letishe even went and got a flashlight and was looking for it till 11:30 that night. With no luck she googled how to find a ring in grass which led her to me. I met her at the hospital and she showed me the area where they were and i got to work. I thought I was going to have my hands full with the amount of signals I was getting but I took a sweep and heard a great signal about a foot off the sidewalk pulled out my pinpointer stuck it into the grass and it vibrated and I pshed the grass aside and there was her husbands ring. Got lucky on this one. I showed her I found it and she let out a scream of happiness and gave me a big hug, then called her husband with the good new. A great happy ending for all.

Glasses recovered at Shark River Marina

While at work I got a call from a past employee Patty asking if my detector can find eye glasses in a metal frame. I told her it could and she asked for help. Turns out her husband while docking a boat slipped and fell into the water off the dock and his glasses flew off his face into the water. I had at first told her I’d meet her Saturday for low tide but I had a break coming up at work and it was already low tide so we agreed to meet in a half hour. I ran home and threw on a bathing suit and got my detector and headed to the marina. She showed me where he went into the water and it wasnt deep but the bottom was covered in seaweed. I decided not to use my scoop so not to damage his glasses. First signal turned out to be nothing and I moved to the side towards the boat and got another good signal reached down and felt around in the seaweed and felt his glasses. I untangled them from the seaweed and held them up and they were so happy to get them back. Her husband can see clear again and I saved him from having to get a new pair. A great ending to another recovery. Ran back home for a quick shower and back to work. Glad I could help

Family Ring Recovered Atlantic Highlands

While at work I got a text from Katie asking for help in finding her grandfather’s ring lost in her backyard. Told her I’d come out after work to help. It seems her husband Homer was wearing the ring while gardening and it flew off his finger while tossing weeds he pulled. I turned on my detector and it was going crazy with interference from somewhere. I lowered the sensitivity to the lowest I could go but it really didnt help. After looking for awhile with no luck I was getting frustrated so I called my buddy Matty St Germain asking if he had any ideas that would help. He told me I had to turn the sensitivity back up to where I usually have it and deal with the interference and listen for carefully for signals. I did but still no luck in the area Homer thought the ring should be. I decided to detect outside the area and about 10 feet off to the side I got a good signal and looking down there was Katie’s grandfather’s ring in the tall grass. I turned off the detector and walked towards Katie saying the interference was to bad and the look of disappointment changed quickly to joy when I showed her the ring in my hand. A great feeling giving back something so special.

Ring recovery at Asbury Park, NJ

I got a call from Kevin asking fr help in locating his girlfriends Nelly’s ring. I told him i’d be there in a few to help. While enjoying the day hanging out on the beach, Nelly took her rings off and put them in her pants pocket, after leaving the beach she noticed that not all her rings were there, one

was missing. They figured it slipped out of her pants pocket and ended up in the sand after they lifted their blanket to leave. I searched the area they were at, but was coming up empty till I reached the outer part of the search area and I finally got a good gold tone on the detector and sure enough out pops her ring from the sand. I knew she was glad, seeing the smile of excitement on her face.

Wedding ring recovered at Bradley Beach, NJ

I was out detecting till 3am and got a wake up text from Jessica at 730 asking if I could help locate her wedding band she lost the night before. I was tired but said yes, i had time before they opened the beaches up. Jessica was ment to have her ring back. She was down watching the fireworks the night before and when she got home noticed her ring missing. She really didnt give me much information as to where to look. She just told me somewhere between 3rd and 4th ave mid beach. Told me what her ring looked like. I didnt have much hope with such a large area to look in but figured id give it a try. Got down to the beach and started detecting from the end of the walkway mat they have down towards 4th ave. Looking at the sand there weren’t many foot prints or butt impressions showing people were there so i figured id move down towards the water where there were. Heading back to where i starting on an angle towards the water, i wasnt 15 feet and got a great signal and figured id check it out and after scooping up some sand there was a gold ring in my scoop. It was hers. The first and only thing i dug. I feel like i must of been guided there. I went back to my car to phone her and give her the good news. She couldnt believe it and came down to meet me and get her ring back. A great and happy ending.
